Me-Ville
Submitted by Scott on October 29, 2008 - 12:01pm.
I recently purchased a book that has really challenged me to evaluate my thinking and the focus of my life. I know, it sounds like a very profound book. It speaks to an issue that has been around since the fall of man. It’s a subtle problem that is in everyone of us, but we like to disguise it by calling it something else. The book is called Deliver Us from Me-Ville by David A. Zimmerman. As you can tell from the title it speaks to the issue of me-worship and me-centered living.
Have a Quiet Time!
Submitted by Jeremy on October 23, 2008 - 2:43pm.
I pray you are regularly having a time of personal devotion with the Lord, also known as a "quiet time." A quiet time should be a daily appointment that you do everything in your power to honor and keep. You will discover as you build your relationship with God, a quiet time is not only about you talking with God, but it is also about listening to him reveal himself to you as well.
Do You See What I See
Submitted by Scott on October 15, 2008 - 12:27pm.
On Wednesday, December 17th the Cross Point Celebration Choir will present "Do You See What I See". This music takes a look at the Christmas story from the individuals that played a role in the coming of Jesus. For instance, you will be able to see in the heart of Joseph as he sings about being the father of the One who created him. You need to mark this date on your calendars. You will not want to miss it. Oh, by the way this will be the night of our Christmas dinner.
Big Overtime
Submitted by Jason on October 15, 2008 - 8:34am.
I would like to ask all of you who read the blogs to be in prayer over "Big Overtime" a student ministry event this Friday evening. Our student ministry has invested a lot of energy and money to create an event that should allow us to meet tons of teenage students. We are expecting anywhere from 500-1000 students to attend this friday night from 7:30-11:30. We will be able to present the Gospel to the teenagers and we are praying that many will respond well to the event.
Thank You

Let me say that I am so blessed to be a part of our faith family here at Cross Point. My ordination service Sunday night was a very special event in my life. I could feel the presence of the Lord fall over this place as we worshipped Him. It is truly an honor to be your Administrative and Discipleship Pastor. I thank God for allowing me to serve Him through this church. Thank you so much for the prayers, hugs, and encouraging words this week. Alison and I could not be happier worshipping and serving with you here each week.
Worship Outside the Walls of Your World
Submitted by Scott on September 23, 2008 - 1:35pm.
If you look at some of my past blogs you will see my passion about the church getting outside the four walls of her building to live out the life of worship God has called to live. I believe we will have true encounters with God outside our walls more than inside the walls.

1738

Why is 1738 such a significant number?
I’m sure you are thinking of your history class from high school or college and trying to remember the significance of the number 1738. Well, I am not referring to a year when I mention this number. 1738 is the number attached to a Bill that will go before the United States Senate later this month (September). The PROTECT our children Act passed 415-2 in the House of Representatives and seems to be attracting some debate in the Senate.
